On the main street of downtown Mebane. Art Gallery and cafe in one. When you enter you have a lot of sofas and pictures on the walls and to the right you find the cafe itself. Get something to eat and drink and check out the work from local artists. Some people really let their hair down, kick off their shoes and sprawl out on the sofas with feet up like they are chillin out at home.

The vegan bean wrap was pretty good. Wrapped in a spinach wrap and then fresh spinach inside. The orange/cranberry scone was pretty good. Not the best I have had, but decent by American standards. It needs jam and clotted cream, but from a counter service coffee shop I didn't expect it to come with all the trimmings, to be fair. The drip coffee and espresso was good. We got all of the above for $12, which I think is pretty good value. There is a microwave where you can heat things up if you'd like. Simple, casual, comfy. There are a few tables on the street and also a patio at the back.

It's very quaint, has nice food options from sweet to savory but for the life of me I have no idea why people enjoy their coffee. And I don't understand why Filament and Reeds compete. They offer two different types of ambiance.

    Friendly staff, casual/comfortable atmosphere.
Combine that with good coffee and delicious egg boats - it's the place to go in the mornings. Try an egg boat or pumpkin chocolate chip muffin, both are awesome.

We just moved to the area in an apartment building down the street. On our second week of living here, Reed's dropped off a welcome gift at our door filled with cookies. These cookies were absolutely amazing and HUGE! The location of the store is perfect and is very welcoming inside. The coffee is great and the staff is super friendly! It was a nice surprise that a local business would give us that "welcome to the neighborhood" treat!
